3 Feb – “All About Pinterest” How can Pinterest.com help you with genealogy? Everyone is welcome from beginners to advanced researchers. Come with your questions; expect an answer. Our Genealogy Group meets monthly at Clayton State University, 2000 Clayton State Blvd, Morrow, GA 30260. The meetings are held in the library, L200 from 3-5p.m.

8 Feb – “Archival Jewels from the Atlanta University Center Woodruff Library” will be presented by Andrea R. Jackson, Head, Archives Research Center Atlanta University Center. The free monthly Lunch and Learn Lecture Series will be held at the Georgia Archives, 5800 Jonesboro Rd, Morrow, GA 30260 from 12-1p.m. For more information, call 768-364-3730.

9 Feb – Emancipation Proclamation Symposium is sponsored by the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society Metro Atlanta Chapter in partnership with the National Archives at Atlanta. The program is from 9a.m. to 4p.m. For schedule, fee and other information see the AAHGS website.

12 Feb – The Friends of the National Archives monthly webinar will be “Exploring the Records of the Freedmen's Bureau” presented by Angela Walton-Raji. The webinars are held monthly on the second Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time; attend from the comfort of your home. Registration is free at Friends website.

16 Feb – Jeff Clemmons will be the speaker at the Genealogical Society of Henry & Clayton Counties meeting at 10a.m. The meeting will be held at 71 Macon St, McDonough, GA 30253. For more information contact members at 770-954-1456.

16 Feb – “Family Search Wiki: The Neglected Tool” will be presented by Laura W. Carter. The program will be held at the Oconee County Public Library, Watkinsville at 2p.m. For directions and information, contact the Clarke-Oconee Genealogical Society.

18 Feb – “Family Search Wiki” will be presented by Laura Williams Carter at 8:00 p.m. The webinar is sponsored by the Georgia Genealogical Society.

26 Feb – Kenneth H. Thomas, Jr. will be the featured speaker at the monthly meeting of the Genealogy Society of Cobb County. The meeting will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 189 Church St, Marietta, GA. The meeting is open to the public and meets 7-8p.m.

28 Feb – “Sixth Annual Black History Month Celebration, Honoring Living Legends” will honor Clarence Carter, Jason Lary, Don P. Roberts, and Beverly “Guitar” Watkins. The program, sponsored by the DeKalb History Center, will be held at the Historic DeKalb Courthouse, 101 E. Court Square, Decatur. For more information and registration see the website.
