Genealogical events to be held in the metro Atlanta area during November 2013 include:
3 November – “I’m Dying to get it Done!” will be a mini genealogy workshop sponsored by Our Genealogy Group. NOTE TIME CHANGE for this free workshop only. Our Genealogy Group will meet at 1:00 p.m. until 5 p.m. room 265 at Clayton State University, 2000 Clayton State Blvd, Morrow, GA 30260. The presenters will be Tim Parrott, Parrott Funeral Home, “Funeral Customs; Rosemary Fischer, CSU Archivist, “Cemeteries: A Grave Undertaking”; Angela Pendleton, “Tombstone Iconography”; and Guy Shaw “Using findagrave.com.”
8 November – “Gone With the Wind and the Battle of Jonesboro" will be presented by Peter Bonner, Historical & Hysterical Tours, Inc. at the Georgia Archives monthly Lunch and Learn program. The program will start at noon; bring your lunch; meet at 5800 Jonesboro Rd, Morrow, GA 30260. Everyone is welcome!
12 November – “Southern Home Front, WW II” will be presented by Nathan Jordan, Archivist. The monthly webinar is sponsored by the Friends of the National Archives Southeast. The free webinar will start at 2:00 p.m. registration is required.
18 November – “Treasures from the National Archives at Atlanta” will be presented by Selma Blackmon and Vicki Evans for the Genealogy Study Group. The group meets monthly at the Northlake-Barbara Loar Library, 3772 LaVista Rd, Tucker, GA 30084. The program will start at 10:15 a.m. Everyone is welcome; join us for lunch at an area restaurant after the meeting.
20 November – Genealogy Study Group of Gwinnett will hold regular monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of each month starting at 10:00 a.m. The group will meet at the LDS Church, 3355 Sugarloaf Pkwy, Lawrenceville, GA. Contact Terry Manning email@example.com for more information.
