Geauga Co. Maple Festival in Ohio

See also

The Geauga County Maple Festival in Ohio would make a nice weekend trip for those living in the Indianapolis area, probably a little far to make it a day trip. Geauga County, Ohio is about a 5 hour drive from downtown Indy. The festival is from April 24 to April 27, 2014. This annual Maple Festival was started in 1926 in an attempt to market Ohio syrup in competition with Vermont syrup. Festival organizers expected 5,000 vistors and worried about the April ice storm that year. Over 15,000 people attended, and now the festival is an annual tradition.

Festival opening/closing times: Thursday Noon - 10 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. - 11 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. - 11 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. For more information you can visit the Maple Festival Web Site.
