The next game in the "Gears of War" franchise is still a month or so away. Of course, fans are getting excited and there are certainly some that are able to get a few copies out to the public early. Generally all big games experience some leaks, and "Gears of War: Judgement" is no different.
Microsoft has confirmed that "Gears of War: Judgement" has been leaked onto a few torrent sites. A spokesperson for the company gave a statement to Joystiq, saying: "We are aware of isolated cases in which 'Gears of War: Judgment' content has been propped on the Web and are working closely with our security teams and law enforcement to address the situation immediately."
There's no word on how the game was leaked, but apparently the game is complete and not an early build of the game. Of course, playing the game on your Xbox is easy, it's keeping it a secret that is going to be hard. Firing up the game while being logged into Xbox Live will end up getting your account and possibly your console banned.
"Consumers should be aware that piracy is illegal and we take vigorous action against illegal activity related to our products and services. Playing pirated copies of games, such as 'Gears of War: Judgment,' is a violation of the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use and will result in enforcement action, such as account and console bans," said Microsoft in their statement to Joystiq.
Quite frankly it's just not worth having it a month early.
"Gears of War: Judgement" will launch for the Xbox 360 on March 19, 2013.
