For San Diego, November 18th through the 24th isn't just an opportunity to stretch out the stomach muscles for Thanksgiving, it is a celebration of San Diego's food scene. This year is the 10th annual San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival and the pairing goes like this: San Diego culinary talent with a pouring of international wine and spirits. The festival includes everything from cooking classes, celebrity chef dinners, and tasting panels.
Saturday, November 23rd, culminates with the Grand Tasting event at Embarcadero Marina Park North, showcasing over 700 different wines and culinary delights created by 70 outstanding San Diego chefs. Celebrity chefs will also be present for autographs in promotion of their new or recent cookbooks.
Saturday's event begins as early as 11 AM for early bird ticket holders but whether you come at 11 or noon, stomachs will need to be well-stretched for the noshing as chefs compete for a grand prize of $50,000 an indisputable bragging rights. Tickets for Saturday's event begins at $75 upwards to $225.
There are 24 events associated with the festival and individual tickets are required to attend. Some events have already begun to sell out so don't pass up the opportunity to celebrate the festival's 10th birthday and see the upcoming food and wine trends for 2014.
