Gearing up for a green spring!

Two green tips to get you started:

Did you know you have simple green alternatives right in your very own kitchen.  Simple things like salt or a banana can actually replace the commercial cleaners you are using now. Here are two things you can try.

First, use salt to boost the cleaning power of your dishwashing detergent. You can use less soap when you add a tablespoon of salt in the soap dispenser. The salt will both soften the water and act as an abrasive to clean your dishes naturally.

The next tip is to use the inside of a banana peel to polish your shoes. That's right, just take the peel, wipe the inside of it on your shoes and buff with a microfiber cloth. You will be amazed how it works.
