This looks so much harder than it actually is....
Geared is an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch which holds the rare distinction of being a top paid and free download with it’s lite version on iTunes. Currently the full version is on sale for $.99. While the app is the latest in the recent fad of puzzle games it is by far the worst of the bunch.
The premise of Geared is to power the non moving gear by connecting it with other gears. Great concept, but hard in execution. The controls while great in theory is what undoes the game. You move the gear onto the screen with your finger and when the gear glows green you can place it. The app demands such a precise placement of the gear it is impossible to get the right placement. This is what ruins the app for a lot of users. The graphics and sound are decent. Nothing to rave about but it certainly doesn’t hurt the game either.
Compared to Boxed In, and even more so Splojit, Geared is just a flat out bad app. Perhaps with an update that fixes the super precision needed to play the game, it could go from a bad to a good app. Until that time though you should skip Geared.

I have Geared on my iPhone and like it. Of course, I'm glad to see splojit fair well compared to Geared - am hoping for splojit to head up those App Store charts. #1 would be good ;)
I'm currently working on an upgrade for splojit which should be submitted to the App Store in a week or so.
