At The Abbey in Los Angeles yesterday, many gay men watched the 2013 Oscars in disbelief. "This definitely isn't a show Seth MacFarlane should host," said viewer Andy Gonzales. "He is just not funny enough." Most others agreed.
"He reads off the teleprompter worse than Obama," Los Angeles school teacher Amir Ali said. "I have never seen a host look so nervous." Amir, who likes Seth MacFarlane, believes it was a huge mistake to have Seth host the show.
People in gay bars were not the only one to condemn Seth MacFarlane's appearance. Rolling Stone wrote a mean review of his hosting abilities while USA Today referred to his show as a "self-indulgent mix." Some other reviews weren't as kind.
Let's hope that MacFarlane's poor performance doesn't hurt his career the same way it temporarily hurt David Letterman's career back in 1995 after Letterman received even worse reviews. What do you think, readers? Did you like Seth MacFarlane as an Oscars host?
