Artworks Gallery is featuring artist Gaylen Whiteman and her February exhibit, “ Hearts Desire.”

Her works will be on view during Artworks First Friday reception Feb. 1 from 5 - 8. Live music will be provided by guitarist Quinn Fitzpatrick. Wine tasting will be available and a variety of chocolates will be served.

Gaylen is returning to active participation at the gallery, and to her drawing and painting, following a successful battle for the past year with serious health issues. Gaylen will be showing watercolor and oil paintings, framed Giclee prints and cards of some of her most favorite subjects...people, animals and sunsets....all captured by her artist's brush right here on Whidbey Island. Gaylen, who signs by her first name, loves to paint the birds and other animals that find their way onto the seven acres of her Island home, and the people and beach scenes at nearby Double Bluff Beach Park. In her art, she strives to show the connection of soul and spirit that man has with all of nature and the incredible beauty of Mother Earth and Father Sky.

Other art on exhibit at the gallery include paintings in oil, watercolor, colored pencil, acrylic, and pastel; handcrafted jewelry, color and black & white photography, fiber arts, metal sculpture and garden art, pottery, raku and fused glass.

Artworks Gallery located in Greenbank Farm on Whidbey Island is open Thurs. through Tues. 11-AM to 4 PM and Sat. & Sun. 10-5. For more information, visit the website or call 360.222.3010
