For the second straight game, Calgary Flames' draft pick John Gaudreau played extremely well for the United States in an eliminaton situation at the World Junior Hockey Championships in Ufa, Russia on Wednesday.
According to the International Ice Hockey Federation, Gaudreau notched a hat trick in a 7-0 shutout win over the Czech Republic in quarterfinal action Wednesday. Gaudreau also scored twice against Slovakia on Monday in a critical elimination game for the USA to advance to the medal round.
