The Aug. 18 episode of "Gator Boys" on Animal Planet was entitled, "Raiders of the Lost Park." Paul Bedard and Jimmy Riffle had some good-sized alligator rescues to contend with, and they weren't just long, they were massive, too. Good ole' J-Mart reappeared in this episode, minus the "Everbilly bravado," and he actually went on some alligator rescues with Paul and Jimmy.
One of the underwater rescues Paul attempted was a first for him and a first for the program. He had two alligators on catch poles at the same time while swimming underwater! This was exciting television as Paul had to stop them from attacking each other.
Tre had a large comedic role again this week. He purchased a very expensive metal detector with hopes of finding long-lost treasure in the park. He wasn't trying to become rich, but he wanted to help support Gator Boys Alligator Rescue.
Tre even got Scott on the trail of treasure. They found a bit of random stuff, but at the end of the show, they were the victim of a good-natured trick. Paul buried a metal toolbox with a promotional photo of Jimmy inside. He lured the treasure hunters to the rumored site of an old Everglades pioneer's buried treasure!
As Jimmy Riffle said about Tre's $400 metal detector, "I hope he kept the receipt."
