'Gator Boys' Paul Bedard is bitten on head by alligator

The season finale of “Gator Boys,” aired Sunday night, March 10, on Animal Planet. As was predicted early in the season, Paul Bedard was bitten on the head by an alligator; the alligator’s mouth closed down on Paul’s head.

While doing a photo shoot for a new brochure for Gulf Coast Gator Ranch, Paul placed his head in the gator’s mouth for effect. Something went wrong, and the gator’s steel jaws clamped down on Paul’s head near his temples. The incident could have been disastrous, but amazingly, Paul was able to pull the jaws apart and remove his head, escaping with only some non-life-threatening injuries. Bedard described it as feeling like his head was closed in a car door.

Besides some wounds on each side of his head and a few days of a headache, it appeared there were no other more dangerous results of this alligator bite.

The scene where Paul is bitten by an alligator had been shown in previews of ‘Gator Boys’ since the beginning of the season. People were on the edge of their seat waiting for it to happen, according to their Twitter posts throughout the show. Paul Bedard survived the dangerous bite to his head, and from what was said on the program, it appeared he never went to the hospital.
