The "Gator Boys" second season started Sunday night, Jan. 6, 2013, and it was much anticipated by "Gator Boys" fans who have patiently waited through months of reruns. The new season was filmed in Mississippi, and, although the first episode still included a lot of footage from the Florida Everglades, it definitely had a different feel from last season.
You can read here to find out why the show was moved from Florida to Mississippi.
Most viewers who like alligator shows probably also watch "Swamp People," set in the swamps of Louisiana. However, part of the charm and fun of "Gator Boys" was the sunny, barefoot feel of Holiday Park. Watching Paul Bedard and Jimmy Riffle slog through waist-high mud holes tonight in Mississippi seemed more like "Hillbilly Handfishin" or "Swamp People."
The scenes tonight shot in Mississippi were a stark contrast to seeing Paul Bedard snorkeling through a Florida canal on a beautiful sunny day. It remains to be seen whether the rest of the season will settle into a pattern that fans will find as appealing as last year. One thing for sure, the shots of the beautiful Florida coastline will be few and far between.
