Last week, anime publisher Sentai Filmworks announced that they have acquired the action-packed anime series, "Gatchaman Crowds", for release in North America next year.
Derived from the classic "Gatchaman" TV series (also acquired by Sentai Filmworks for release later this year), "Gatchaman Crowds" is produced by Tatsunoko Productions and directed by Kenji Nakamura. The anime features series composition by Toshiya Ono, character designs by Kinako and G-Suit designs by Kenji Andou and Koji Nakakita.
The series follows the Gatchaman, warriors who use special suits that give them the ability to battle against alien criminals and mysterious monsters determined to conquer, enslave or destroy the peace of the citizens of Tachikawa city. Newly chosen to the crew, schoolgirl artist Hajime Ichinose will have to learn the ropes fast as she helps the Gatchman protect the people without disrupting their everyday lives.
"Gatchaman Crowds" will be available through select digital outlets soon and a home video release from Sentai Filmworks is planned for 2014, no exact date for the release has been given at this time.
