Gassera stays red-hot at Bowland with 2 more 300s and 237 average

He's only in his second season of adult-league competition, but 15-year-old Daniel Gassera of Port Charlotte is already staking a claim as one of the area's top bowlers, and his performances over the past few days at Bowland Port Charlotte clearly enhance his credentials.

In the 9 & A Wiggle League on Monday night, Gassera fired a perfect game as part of a 791 series to raise his average to 228. In the Al Davis Memorial League on Wednesday, he posted a 300 game in the middle of a 727 series that upped his average to 237, and for good measure, he added a 731 series to maintain a 226 average in the Thursday Night Mixed League.

The young phenom already has 11 certified perfect games to his credit, along with five 800-plus series, and in his first season out of the junior leagues (2010-11), he carried five yearbook averages of 225 or better, topped by a 231. It's a virtual cinch that we'll be hearing a lot more about Daniel Gassera in the future.
