Gary Zukav speaks about 'Spiritual Partnership' in Seattle: An exclusive interview (video)

Noted author and speaker Gary Zukav was in Seattle giving a talk about his new book “Spiritual Partnership: The Journey to Authentic Power” at The Center for Spiritual Living, and I had the opportunity to interview him prior to the event. I actually got to spend three hours talking face to face with Gary Zukav and his spiritual partner Linda Francis about “Spiritual Partnership.” Although the book lists Gary as the author, it is, in my judgment, clearly the result of their spiritual partnership. When the interview was initially scheduled, I thought it would be like Oprah interviewing him, so I went through the book and dutifully created a couple pages of questions. I also got very nervous about interviewing a “celebrity” who had been on Oprah thirty plus times.

However, on the scheduled morning, the meeting went nothing like I had imagined. Rather than an interview, it quickly became a conversation between three equal humans who wanted to contribute to each other and the welfare of all people. After speaking with them for only a few minutes, it was obvious that Linda and Gary are truly living and empowered by the mission of their Seat of the Soul Institute.

In both our private meeting and his public presentation later that day, he talked about that mission as assisting individuals in creating meaning, purpose, creativity, health, joy and love. He went on to explain that they fulfill that mission by teaching people to create authentic power, which they define as the alignment of the personality with the soul.

For me, this is a meaningful definition, and their lives and actions are living proof that it can work to generate what most would define as miracles. The single thing that I found most significant in my conversation with Gary and Linda was their intense focus on the importance of us all creating authentic power in our lives. We do this through learning to distinguish fear from love within ourselves and then consistently choosing love. This is not usually the natural decision for most people, especially in a moment of anger, stress or even great joy. It is, however, something that we can learn and practice so that it becomes natural and normal to choose love rather than fear in precarious circumstances. Through their numerous projects, Gary and Linda help people to do just that, and for that gift we can all be extremely grateful.

May we all learn to feel and experience the difference between love and fear so that we can consciously choose love and authentic power in all aspects of our lives. And may we all continue to discover more and more of our spiritual partners in this journey we call life.
