Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band bring music and rhythms to inspire wounded soldiers.

Actor Gary Sinise took his role as Lietenant Dan, in the 1994 hit Forrest Gump, and made it a lifelong journey. For the past 10 years, Sinise and his band, Lt. Dan Band, have been traveling across the world to bring rock, rhythm and inspiration to US troops and wounded soldiers. Sinise describes it as their was of saying "thank you" to the troops and what they do for America.

This past weekend, the Lt. Dan Band brought good vibes and sounds to the Balboa Naval Hospital in Balboa Park, San Diego as part of the "Invincible Spirit Festival". This festival was aimed at honoring wounded soldiers, their families and their caregivers. More than 2000 people showed up for the event, and put on their dancing shoes when Sinise and his band hit the stage. Also participating in the festival was celebrity chef, Robert Irvine, who coordinated and supervised the barbeque extravaganza for the festival.
