Country star Gary Allan's ninth studio album, "Set You Free" has debuted at the top of Billboard's Country Album charts, with 106,109 albums sold in its debut week. The album also tops Billboard's Top 200, which is a compilation of all genres, making it his first album to top that chart, and the third time he has topped the Country Album chart.
There's more good news for Allan this week, as his single, "Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)" sits atop the Billboard Country Airplay Chart, Mediabase/Country Aircheck and Music Row charts this week. This makes his fifth chart topper in his career, with a dozen Top 10 hits.
"It has been a long while, but it feels really good," said Allan in a press release. "I would especially like to thank all of my fans and everyone at radio. I would also like to thank everyone on my team who has helped to get me to this point. This is a great feeling!"
The album has been critically favored, with USA Today giving it FOUR OUT OF FOUR STARS and claiming "Allan is the outlaw whom country’s new wave dreams of being." NPR commented "A great mainstream country vocalist knows how to balance ardor with grit. Gary Allan is a master at that Blend" while the Nashville Scene remarked "when it comes to album-making as a serious art form, Neil Young has nothing on Gary Allan."
