Garth Brooks is scheduled to kick off his new World Tour in Chicago on Thursday, September 4. The legendary country star will perform at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 25.
Joining Garth Brooks in concert will be his wife Trisha Yearwood. Brooks announced his comeback tour stating Chicago will be the city which launches his tour. “As an entertainer, you get asked a lot ‘what are the best cities to play?’ Without hesitation, I rattle five or six of the best places to play and that list ALWAYS includes Chicago. It is the PERFECT city to launch the World Tour!” Brooks said in a news release.
After 17 long years, Garth Brooks will make his comeback to the Windy City making it his first stop on the World Tour. It’s been 13 years since the country superstar was on tour. While Garth has performed his sold-out one man Vegas shows during a four year run, it was at the Q&A at last New Year’s show that he made a promise to a random fan. Longtime fan, Andy Roberts asked him, “What is the first city on your World Tour?”
On Monday, Brooks kept his promise and called Andy from Atlanta with the news, who then announced it on Twitter. In a statement reported by Rolling Stone Magazine, Garth talked about the upcoming tour. “Our job is to go out there and fly the flag for country music,” he said. “I’ve seen the world tour stage. It’s phenomenal.”
Chicago country fans are highly anticipating the return of Garth Brooks to their city and Brooks assures his fans they won’t forget it.
"For those who show up, I hope we give you a show that makes you forget the ones that were in the Nineties.” Brooks said.
Along with his comeback tour, Brooks announced a new album will be released in the fall, around the time of Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.
