Garth Brooks lands in the television top spot

Garth Brooks adds another win to his already long list of accomplishments. Billboard reported on Dec. 2, 2013 that Brooks television special "Garth Brooks, Live From Las Vegas" landed in the number one with spot with 9.33 million viewers during its second hour helping CBS land in first place for the big night.

The two hour CBS special starring Brooks took place on Nov. 29, 2013 from the Encore Theater at the Wynn Las Vegas marking his final Las Vegas performance after selling out shows at the Encore Theater at the Wynn for three years. "Garth Brooks, Live From Las Vegas" was number one in the ratings for both hours during the shows time slot.

Brooks also kicked off his Black Friday sale on Nov. 29, 2013 for his new box set titled “Blame It All On My Roots: Five Decades of Influences” which is available exclusively at Walmart. The new box set includes Brooks performing live from Las Vegas, six CD’s, two DVD’s and features 77 songs, 33 music videos plus a 68 page photo book.

Brooks discussed the new box set saying "Blame it all on my roots" adding "This is the soundtrack of my life. Growing up the last of six kids, music was the life blood of our family and as you can imagine, mom, dad, and each kid had his or her own favorite stuff and it all funneled down to me."
