Garth Brooks was in Dublin on Jan. 20 to announce that he will begin his 2014 worldwide tour with two performances that will take place at Croke Park on July 25 and July 26. The shows are billed as “The Garth Brooks Comeback Special Event”.
Garth Brooks personally made the announcement about “The Garth Brooks Comeback Special Event,” saying that before he and his band take to the road in the fall of 2014, they will play the now finished stadium at Croke Park in Dublin. Brooks played the stadium to sell-out crowds in 1997 when it was under construction. The multiple award-winning and Country Music Hall of Fame singer promised the Dublin fans that he would return to play there when construction was finished.
Tickets for “The Garth Brooks Comeback Special Event” at Croke Park go on sale Thursday, Jan. 30 at 9 a.m. through Tickmaster and all the usual outlets nationwide, according to the announcement on the performer’s website.
