Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood moving on: 'It's been a bit of a challenge'

Country music stars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are moving on. The couple told CMT last week that they are moving from their longtime home state of Oklahoma to Nashville, stating that it "makes sense because it's been a bit of a challenge to not live there and to have to fly in and out for work."

Brooks’ youngest daughter leaves for college in the fall, leaving them with no family ties to Oklahoma. CMT reports that the country music power couple stayed in Oklahoma to be close to Brooks' three daughters from his first marriage, but can now move away since the girls are grown.

Yearwood states that they are looking forward to moving to Nashville, but they have loved living in Oklahoma.

"It’s been a great place to raise our girls, and the thing I’ll miss the most is that I’ve made some of the best friends I’ll ever have. But we’ll always be best friends."

Yearwood spoke to CMT reporter Alison Bonaguro last week about the upcoming move, stating, "Garth and I have always sort of been gypsies. If you do this for a living, home for us is really just where we are together. There's an energy about Nashville that I love and I miss."

Brooks and Yearwood have been married since Dec. 10, 2005. Their wedding took place at their home in Oklahoma six months after Brooks proposed to Yearwood in front of 7,000 fans at a concert in Bakersfield, Calif.
