A woman who filed a police report about an emaciated, one eyed dog she said she found on the street was actually the dog's owner, the Garfield Heights Animal Warden said.

Navada Williams, 43, of Garfield Heights, was charged with animal cruelty, animal abandonment and two counts of failure to have a dog license, the Garfield Heights Animal Warden said.

Garfield Heights Police also charged her with filing a false police report.

The warden also impounded another boxer found at her home, who is okay.

The dog had one eye with recent stitches in the empty socket. The warden said that she had cancer and that the eye was surgically removed by a veterinarian.

Williams was issued a summons to appear in Garfield Heights Municipal Court at 8:30 a.m. on March 26.
