Real Madrid were rumored to be chasing Tottenham’s Welsh star Gareth Bale all summer long, but the player committed his future to White Hart Lane. However, according to the latest reports from the Telegraph on Dec. 2 the talented 23-year-old is now ready to trade his Lily White and Navy for the famous Blanco of the Spanish capital.
It is believed that one of the chief proponents trying to affect the move of Bale to Spain is the player’s former teammate, Luka Modric, whom moved to Madrid over the summer. Despite the player having signed a new four-year contract tying him to the club until 2016 at a rate of £75,000-per-week his most recent comments in the Telegraph prove he is anticipating something else:
It would be nice to experience other leagues and other cultures.
I’m not afraid to go abroad. If the time comes and a team that’s right comes in for me, then I’ll look at it seriously. I’ll see what happens.
With the club having managed to hold onto Modric and get £30 million for him from Real Madrid, Spurs are expected to demand no less than £40 million for Bale who continues to develop into one of the best left wingers in the world.
However, should he move to Madrid, the problem for him will be that despite wanting to play on the same side as Cristiano Ronaldo, it is hard to get playing time when you play the same position.
