Gardens in bloom await at the annual LilyFest

Does the idea of spending a summer afternoon amidst three acres of artistically designed gardens in full bloom, ponds with water lilies and goldfish and unique garden sculptures sound appealing? Then plan a jaunt to Rockbridge, Ohio to attend the annual LilyFest being held at the Bishop Educational Gardens on Friday, July 11, Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13.

LilyFest Presented in a beautiful woodland setting in the Hocking Hills area of Ohio, LilyFest featuring a multitude of blooming lilies and other flowers and plants for visitors to enjoy. Remember, this is a walking tour so make sure you wear comfortable shoes.

Throughout the gardens will be over 70 area artists who will be giving demonstrations and displaying their wares. Among items offered for purchase will be jewelry, garden statues, butterfly houses, garden stones, watercolor and acrylic paintings, ceramics, walking sticks, baskets, rugs and handmade cards.

Live entertainment will be provided on multiple stages by local groups performing Appalachian-style vocal and instrumental music and New Age music in addition to Indian flute player, Mark "Thunderwalker" Camden.

Food will be available for purchase.

OSU Master Gardeners and Ohio certified Volunteer Naturalists will be on hand to answer gardening questions on plant growing and maintenance. Annuals, perennials and water plants will be for sale.

Special tours are available for visitors with disabilities.

Hours for LilyFest are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free but donations are gratefully accepted.

The Bishop Educational Gardens is located at 13200 Little Cola Dr. in Rockbridge, Ohio. Rockbridge is 182 miles from Cleveland and it is approximately a 3 hour drive.
