It is still hot outside but the days are getting shorter and the promise of cooling weather is on the horizon. Desert gardeners find that early spring and fall are good times of the year for planting flowers and vegetables that have a window of opportunity to grow between the intense heat of summer and coldest days of winter.

Want to start a garden or renovate one but not sure what to plant and when? Visit some of these nurseries and garden activities to get advice and ideas from local horticulturists.
