Garden Walk Buffalo will be celebrating its 20th anniversary with a few surprises this year. Garden Walk Buffalo runs Saturday and Sunday, July 26th and 27th.
Jim Charlier, who served as president of Garden Walk Buffalo from 2006 to 2012, has been posting about upcoming events surrounding this year’s Walk on his blog, artofgardeningbuffalo.blogspot.com. First up, there will be a 20th anniversary commemorative annual printed for this year’s event, featuring articles from local garden writers including Sally Cunningham and Elizabeth Licata to name but two, as well as great photos from Don Zinteck – learn more about the annual here.
In addition, Buffalo-Niagara will go green the weekend of Garden Walk Buffalo. Attractions including the International Peace Bridge, the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, the M&T Bank Tower and the Burchfield Penney Art Center will be lit up in green lights at various times Friday through Sunday, July 25th through 27th; the American and Horseshoe Falls will also be lit in green on Friday, July 25th from 9 to 9:15 p.m. and 10 to 10:15 p.m. – learn more about this endeavor here.
