Garbage: Shirley Manson announces the band's new concert tour dates

Garbage lead singer, Shirley Manson announced the band's new concert tour dates, on Jan. 30, 2013. Manson is one of the first ladies of alternative rock. The genre is predominately male artist driven. Garbage holds its own among the best of them.

The band was formed in 1994, and some of the band's mega hits include "Stupid Girl" and "Only Happy When It Rains." The band's self-titled, double platinum, debut album, launched the band as MTV's Breakthrough Artist of the year in 1996.

In 1998 the band was nominated for two Grammy Awards, Best Rock Album and Album of the Year. The band completed world tours in 1995,1998, 2001, 2005, and the band's current tour, "Not your kind of People tour" extends to 2013, with additional, new concert dates.

Jan. 30, Grunge Report cites the new concert tour dates as follows:

March 22nd: New York, NY, Terminal 5
March 23rd: Philadelphia, PA, Electric Factory
March 24th: Silver Spring, MD, The Fillmore
March 26th: Boston, MA, House of Blues

"Twelve more tour dates are expected to be announced soon."
