If you are a bargain hunter and also find animal rescue causes worthwhile, then plan to visit the CAPIC Cats garage sale this weekend. The Cat Adoption & Pet Information Center, better known as CAPIC Cats, has scheduled a garage sale this Friday and Saturday, May 16 and 17, in Raritan, New Jersey. Update: Dates/times have changed since first publication due to inclement weather on Friday. New time is Saturday, May 17, beginning at 6:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Check back with CAPIC Cats to find out if Sunday, May 18 sale will take place.

“All proceeds generated from our garage sale will be used for the medical treatment of the kittens and cats that we rescue,” said Hope Valenti, spokesperson for CAPIC. “We specialize in Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), and our monthly medical expenses can be quite high during kitten season, which is now upon us.”

Every cat or kitten that is rescued by CAPIC volunteers is spayed or neutered and receives FIV / FLV testing and vaccinations. If a cat or kitten is found ill, it is fostered and medically cared for until it is well enough to either be released back to its colony or put up for adoption.

CAPIC relies entirely on foster care for their adoptable cats and kittens. Volunteers are always welcome.

The garage sale will take place at 6 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869 from 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday. Update: Dates/times have changed since first publication due to inclement weather on Friday. You can view their adoptable cats and kittens online at Petfinder and meet the cats and kittens in person every Saturday during their weekly adoption event at Amwell Pet Supply in Hillsborough from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. An application for adoption is required.
