The new year looks promising for movie fans with the release of "Gangster Squad" which opens in theaters Friday, January 11, 2013. This film features a great ensemble cast including two time Oscar winner Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling a solid actor whose track record speaks for itself with great film projects including "Ides of March" and the unforgettable classic "The Notebook." This will be the second time Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling team up on a film project having also worked together in "Crazy, Stupid, Love." Also included in the cast is up and coming actor Anthony Mackie whose work includes "Adjustment Bureau" and "The Hurt Locker."
"Gangter Squad" is a 1950's period piece that tells the story of the Los Angeles Police Department's fight to keep the East Coast Mafia from successfully migrating to the West Coast. The cast alone is worth the price of admission!
