PSY continues to take the world “Gangnam Style,” as he takes away the award for Song of the Year on Wednesday at the 27th annual Golden Disk Awards in Korea.
The awards show is referred to as the “Korean Grammys,” and is held over a two day period celebrating the K-pop culture. This year it was held in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur, as screaming fans enjoyed live performances by K-pop stars of today.
On the first night of the awards Super Junior won Best Album for “Sexy, Free & Single," and boy band Shinee picked up the Most Popular Star prize.
The Golden Disk Awards began in 1986, winners are chosen based on album sales and digital downloads.
Just last month PSY’s quirky “Gangnam Style” broke a YouTube record by surpassing one billion views.
Last week it was announced that Wonderful Pistachios would be featuring the 35 year old PSY in his first ever US television commercial which is due to air during the Super Bowl on February 3.
