Guten Tag! While many were fast asleep, Xbox held a press conference in Germany at Gamescom this morning. Their news was nothing revolutionary, but there were a few tasty and surprising bits in there. This mostly pertains to Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics announcing the next Tomb Raider will be a Xbox exclusive. Not timed exclusive, but a true exclusive. Will it never come to the PlayStation family though? Who knows, but let’s round up everything else that went down at the show.

News

  • The Xbox One is getting upgraded with a few new features starting this fall including better synchronization with social networks
  • Assassin’s Creed Unity received a new trailer, showcasing the environments of Paris
  • The Xbox One will be getting a Call of Duty bundle on November 4, which will include a redesigned system with a 1TB HD along with a special controller, headset, and the game for $499
  • The next Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, is a Xbox One exclusive for 2015 and will not be coming to any other console
  • Quantum Break was shown off, highlighting how the game works with a short gameplay demo
  • ScreamRide was announced for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 Kinect as a roller coaster type game
  • Another Xbox One bundle was showcased featuring a white console bundled with Sunset Overdrive launching on October 28 and retailing at $399
  • Sunset Overdrive also received a new trailer
  • Microsoft will launch a Halo Channel on Xbox Live starting with the Master Chief Collection to highlight everything Halo from the games to other media projects
  • A demo reel was shown featuring several indie games like Cuphead, Super Hot, Goat Simulator, and others
  • Finally, Activision showed off Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare onstage, highlighting a single player mission
