The Sims 4 is built on a foundation of new technology called “Smart Sim,” which focuses on the development of the Sims themselves, according to Maxis VP, Executive Producer, Rachel Franklin.
“This is a bold step forward for our Sims, as they come to life like never before in The Sims 4,” said Franklin. “The Sims 4 combines revolutionary Sims with powerful creative tools and all new emotion-based gameplay to reinvent The Sims experience.”
There are many different factors which influence the gameplay in The Sims 4; the way you decorate your house, the objects you use and the choices you make all have an impact on your Sims' emotions which can alter their behavior, such as making one of the more sensitive Sims cry with a sad violin melody or having an enraged Sim go a few rounds with a punching bag to blow off some steam.
The Sims 4 is slated for a 2014 release. Pre-orders start today.
