With Valentine's Day tomorrow, there are several different ways that couples can celebrate. There is the traditional bouquet, the great dinner at the favorite restaurant, the romantic snuggle with a glass of wine...or the trying to beat each other's zombie kill count. There is one interesting way that gamers celebrate this day of pink hearts, and that is playing with a sweetheart. Here are some games that will keep the competitive edge and love on it toes.
'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World' for Xbox Live Arcade is an 8-bit action game that tells the tale of lovable loser Scott Pilgrim and his quest to win the heart of his lady, Ramona Flowers. However, this will be no easy feat. Ramona has baggage in the form of seven evil ex-boyfriends that Scott must battle and defeat in order to come out on top. The game allows up to four players to take control of Scott, Ramona, Stephen, and Kim in order to kick butt through the games stages. Certain pairings allow for different beat-me-up combinations and all around good time.
'Ilomilo' is another Xbox Live game that will tug at the heart strings. In this adorable and lush plush world, friends Ilo and Milo have to find each other at the end of every 'day' so that they may picnic again tomorrow. Their memories are terrible and so they can never remember where the other is. It's up to the player and partner to reunite the two friends at a meeting point inside the game's winding puzzles. Solving them unlocks memories inside the little characters' heads, giving some insight into their friendship and actual lives.
Who doesn't love to kill zombies? In 'Left 4 Dead,' one to four players can throw themselves into the fight for survival as a groupof unlikely heroes try to get themselves out a city that has become overrun with the undead. Kills both of the run-of-the-mill walker and the specials are tallied at the end of each chapter and can grant achievements to the brave. Others similiar like 'Dead Island' can be considered as well. Would a little competition hurt?
Happy Holiday and happy hunting.
