"These Games," the sixth episode of Hallmark's frontier series "When Calls the Heart" premiered on Hallmark Channel on Sat., Feb. 15, 2014. "When Calls the Heart," executive produced by Michael Landon Jr., stars Erin Krakow, Lori Loughlin and Daniel Lissing. The series is based on the books by best-selling author Janette Oke, who also wrote the popular "Love Saga" series.

Stanton house is turned into a makeshift hospital when pregnant widow Carla Noonan (Jill Morrison) is taken in by Abigail (Lori Loughlin, "Full House," "Garage Sale Mystery"). They hope that Carla will not deliver until the Coal Valley doctor returns, but when her water breaks the women make a surprise delivery.

The townspeople of Canadian coal mining town Coal Valley are excitied about the Coal Miner's Ball, which is a community gathering that includes games and a pie auction.

Schoolteacher Elizabeth Thatcher (Krakow, "Chance at Romance" on Hallmark Channel) does not know how to bake, but makes an effort to contribute a cake to the fund raising auction. Her new suitor Billy Hamilton (Andrew W. Walker) makes generous bid on the flat looking cake and Canadian Mountie Jack Thornton (Lissing) bids against his rival. Elizabeth is embarrassed at the bidding war that evetually brings $3, an unseemly high price for her sad cake.

Jack knows that Billy is not what he seems, but Elizabeth stubbornly refuses to listen to his concerns. He sets a trap for the jewelry thief, and catches the criminal, but it is not who he presumed. Elizabeth is further embarrassed that Jack thought that Billy was the person who had been stealing valuables.

Eventually, Elizabeth figures out that something does not add up with Billy when she cathches him in a lie about poem. She cleverly sets her own trap by tellling Billy that she was disinherited by her wealthy family and dreams of moving even further into the wilderness.

Widow Mary Dunbar (Laura Bertram) is being romanced by Dewitt Graves (Derek Hamilton), but her son Caleb (Will Verchere-Gopaulsing) resents the man who is trying to replace his beloved father. Caleb acts like a brat until Dewitt tells him that he admires his father,so Caleb accepts his friendship and invites him for pie.
