Firstly, I must point out that these are my personal picks, not the best of e3 or any other magazine or website's top picks. Now with that out of the way, Nintendo totally blew me away with their list of games scheduled to come out for both the 3DS and WiiU. I used to own a Wii, but sadly it died a few years back. Unfortunately, I never saw a good enough reason to purchase a WiiU and sold off most of the games and accessories I had for it. Now I totally regret that decision and may have to buy all those things back. As much as that will kill my wallet, I'm also looking forward to the new Super Smash Bros! Originally, I was going to get it for the 3DS, but I may have to buy the WiiU version once I get the console. Also looking to pick up The Legend of Zelda WiiU, Bayonetta 2, Mario Maker, Splatoon, and the adorably cute Yoshi's Wooly World.
Microsoft had the first showcase of the big three, and some of the highlights for me were Halo, Halo, and Halo. Ok I miscounted, there were only two big Halo announcements. The first was the Halo: Master Chief Collection and a much anticipated Halo 5. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare was also shown, as was the latest Assassin's Creed, Unity. And finally, Lara Croft returns in Rise of the Tomb Raider. All in all, it was a good showing by Microsoft, a very good lineup of games, but will it be enough to overtake Sony in the console war?
Sony was up next, and it started off with a bang with their trailer for Destiny. After that were a few interesting titles like Entwined, and Little Big Planet 3. But then Sony brought out the big guns with Far Cry 4, Mortal Kombat X, Batman Arkham Knight, and Konami's Metal Gear Solid 5. If that wasn't enough, they ended it with a trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. As of now I'm still resisting the next gen consoles. WiiU is on my list of things to pick up, but right now PS4 would be the second thing on my list.
