For people new to our city, finding a Friendly Local Gaming Store (FLGS) can be quite a challenge. Only a few major gaming stores remain in Boise, though many have come and gone in the last few years. This means that many stores have begun to specialize in their fields which is good news for the average gamer.
All About Games:
A local store dedicated entirely to gaming. Its selection runs the gamut from board games to pen & paper rpgs, card games and miniatures. A large gaming area is available in the back and the store even allows you to use their own terrain for miniatures and roleplaying. Regular painting contests and tournaments make this an excellent gamer's headquarters.
7009 Overland Rd

As the name suggests, this is the house that Magic (the Gathering) built. Their selection focuses on card games, video games, and movies. A small selection of manga and anime is also available for otaku looking for a quick fix. The gaming area is well-designed for ccgs and the occasional video game group for such games as Guitar Hero.
1825 N Wildwood St
Boise, ID 83713
A friendly, down to earth comic book store that supports gaming. Regular ccg tournaments including Pokemon for the kids (and the otaku who just can't give up the habit) make it a great store for those of us who want/have to bring the offspring along. The amazing staff is involved in many community gatherings and events.
3890 W State St

This excellent hobby store in Nampa at the Karcher Mall bears mention for those who live outside of the city. Regular tournaments and events such as painting classes make this a great place to enter the hobby gaming world. Team Dewey has a strong focus on social games including ccgs, miniature battles, and tabletop roleplay.
