The Swarm are on the road, tonight, as they take on the Knighthawks of Rochester, at Blue Cross Arena.
The Swarm (1-1) are looking to build off of their, 19-11, home opener win against Buffalo, last week, and reach two wins in a row and on the season. The Swarm are led in goals by, defending NLL scoring champion, Ryan Benesch, and Callum Crawford with 6 goals each. Crawford, also, leads the way in assists (12) and points (18),while Jamie Shewchuk leads the team in shots on goal, with 16. The seemingly low numbers can be credited to the Swarm's offensive depth and ability to spread the ball around. Defensive players to keep an eye on, for the Swarm, tonight are Matt Kelly and Mitch Belisle. There has been no known announcement for who will start in the net tonight, although both Tyler Carlson and Evan Kirk's names have been both brought up, by few close to the organization. Many fans will be hoping to see Carlson back in net, after his surprisingly dominate performance in last week's home opener. Carlson posted 39 saves on 50 shots against and a .780 save percentage, while only giving up 11 goals and recieving the win,in his first career start.
On the other side, Rochester is 1-3 coming into tonight's match up. The Knighthawks have dropped 3 straight after beating Philadelpia 22-12 in their season opener. For more on the Knighthawks click here.
The Swarm will win if:
- They can shut down Cody Jamieson, defensively.
- They get a good game from whichever net minder is in goal, tonight.
- They can score early and put Rochester in a big hole.
- They can keep up their energy despite playing in front of a small, energyless, road crowd.
The Knighthawks will win if:
- They get a strong game from Matt Vinc.
- Cody Jamieson gets it going, offensively.
- They can get their crowd into the game.
Prediction: The Swarm are the better team, offensively, and will once again have little trouble getting balls past, the porous, Matt Vinc. Either of the goalies, for the Swarm, will be able to shut down the Knighthawks, due to the fact of a lack of weapons, offensively, besides Cody Jamieson. Swarm 15 Knighthawks 9.
