We are just a week away from the season 4 premiere of “Game of Thrones,” a series that may well be the most-watched television series of all time. On March 29, Yahoo News reviewed where the story is and where it is going. We’ve also got season 4 spoilers from some of the cast so read on at your own risk.
Many of the main characters will all be in the same place at the same time as they gather for the wedding of King Joffrey and Margaeray Tyrell. We’ll also see Prince Oberyn Martell otherwise known as the Red Viper. Though he will be a guest at the wedding, he also has reasons of his own for being in King’s Landing.
When it comes to romance, there isn’t much on “Game of Thrones” but what is there is powerful. One romance fans have been hoping to see take off is that between Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth. Gwendoline Christie, the actress who portrays is Brienne is among them. She talked about their relationship in an interview posted on Zap 2 It.
"What I love about the relationship is that it's so rare to see a man and woman have a relationship that is born out of a begrudging respect for each other, and it's about that respect for each other, and the bond and the friendship that they have; that it's not sexually motivated," she says. "It's just out of the companionship and their admiration for each other."
At the end of season 3, Brienne had just delivered Jamie to King’s Landing where he was reunited with his family. In a season 4 promo just released by HBO on the costumes for the series, Brienne talks about getting a new suit of Armor from Jaimie. It is the equivalent of him giving her couture clothing and shoes. A new suit of armor and sword mean more to her than anything else. The gift may be one of gratitude but fans may be hoping it means something more.
Three other promos were also just released, each dealing with a different aspect of the show such as the directing, the weapons and training and one dedicated entirely to the Purple Wedding. Check out the slideshow for more just-released photos, too.
“Game of Thrones" Season 4 premieres on April 6 at 9 p.m. EDT on HBO.
