Word on the street is that HBO wants to get us revved up for the season 4 premiere of “Game of Thrones.” According to Matt Carter on Jan. 24, the network has cooked up a special preview that will be show on February 9.
The actual series premiere is scheduled for April 6 but until then, the folks at HBO want to give us a little taste of what’s in store on the latest season of the George R.R. Martin adaptation. Part of the presentation will be a recap of season 3 but it will definitely include plenty of new footage.
The special will air at 8:45 p.m. ET that Sunday. The preview episode is entitled “Game of Thrones Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing.” This is one week after the Super Bowl and there really won’t be any other schedule conflicts unless you’re heavily into the 2014 Winter Olympics which will be underway by then.
As February chugs along, HBO will begin churning out more promotional information, clips and pictures to keep us waiting patiently for that April premiere. Check back here often for updates, spoilers and news as it becomes available.
