Game of Thrones Inspires Beer Collaboration (Photos)

Game of Thrones, the critically acclaimed drama has most recently inspired a business collaboration between HBO and brewery Ommegang. The 3rd season, which debuts on March 31, 2013 will mark the release of Iron Throne, a blonde ale that is the first in the series of highly anticipated brews.

The collaboration, a creative endeavor between brewmaster Phil Leinhart and HBO has defied the typical marketing campaign, by focusing on developing unique beers that are directly tied into the themes and nuances of the medieval-like fantasy realm of Westeros and the surrounding kingdoms, where the competition to sit on Iron Throne is fierce and deadly.

Iron Throne beer will be nationally available in both bottles and draft by mid March at $8.50 per bottle, with additional beers to follow in its kingly footsteps.
