Game News: Skyrim DLC comes to PS3

Bethesda VP Pete Hines, has revealed the European release dates for the content on his Twitter. Dragonborn will arrive on February 13, followed by Hearthfire on February 20 and Dawnguard on February 27. Back when Bethesda revealed that all Skyrim DLC will finally be coming to PS3, it did not give us any release dates to look forward to. A few days ago the studio announced when each piece of Skyrim DLC will be hitting the console here in the U.S., and eager players will be happy to know that the roll out starts in less than two weeks.

Enjoyably Dragonborn will be the first to release on PS3, launching on February 12. Bethesda will release Hearthfire, the DLC that tasks players will buying up a plot of land and collecting the materials to build a house, one week later on February 19. The trio of releases wraps up with the launch of Dawnguard on February 26. Dawnguard was the first Skyrim DLC to launch on Xbox 360 and PC, giving players a chance to join up with the vampire hunting group of the same name or throw in with the vampires instead. Of the three, Dragonborn is the largest and seems to be most popular. Perhaps the only proper expansion to Skyrim, it adds the island of Solstheim to the game, and takes players through a story line that involves meeting the first Dragonborn.

All of that extra content comes with a pretty hefty price tag, however, with Dragonborn costing a pretty significant $20.Bethesda has struggled in bringing Skyrim DLC to PS3, leaving players to wait months while those on Xbox 360 and PC received regular DLC releases. Possibly as a way to make peace with reasonable angry PS3 owners, Bethesda has announced that each DLC will be 50% off for the first week after release.
