The fans started arriving earlier in the week bringing with them camraderie and some good natured rivalry. The question most heard this week was whether you were a Gator or a Dawg.

Jacksonville was covered in orange and blue and red and black.  Everywhere you looked you would see flags flying with either the Georgia University bulldog or Florida University gator mascot.  Hats and shirt, faces and chests all covered in the colors of the rival teams.

The chants of each university echoes down the streets.  They can be heard on every corner and on the streets of downtown Jacksonville.  The chant of, "How 'bout them dogs" and "orange and blue" are well known to the residents of Jacksonville.

The game has been held in Jacksonville almost every year since 1933 and has been nicknamed the "World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party".  This year was the first time in history that the game went into overtime, resulting in the Gators win over the Dawgs, 34-31.
