Game Crazy to close Austin stores

National retailer Game Crazy, owned by Hollywood Entertainment Corporation, announced to employees yesterday that it would be closing all but one store in Austin.

"It was officially announced the closing of all Game Crazy stores in Austin except [the Red River location] this morning," said one local manager, "The chain is going to about 70 stores total after the cuts."

The past few months have seen massive cuts for the rental and retail giant going from over 600 stores last September to less than 100 this year amidst swirling rumors of bankruptcy.
