The Game CoLab has recently announced their Phoenix Makes Games Jam to all interested developers and enthusiasts regardless of background or experience. After being featured at their official opening in May of last year, the Game CoLab has been busy creating programs designed to fuel the creativity of local game developers and to help equip them with the tools to be successful in the industry.

According to the announcement on Meetup.com this game jam will be held from July 18th-20th at Arizona State University’s Culture Studio. The Game CoLabs advertisement reads, “Bring your team with you or make friends with some strangers and form a group. No experience necessary so just come on out and join the fun."

Many of the indie game developers that we have interviewed in the past could not stress enough the importance of making games as a key ingredient to success in the industry. A couple of successful developers even shared that their initial inspiration for some of their biggest games came to them during a game jam event.

The 48-hour game jam will conclude on Sunday with a public showcase of the games, final judging, and the awards ceremony.

This event proves to be extremely important to any potential game creator who is looking for a way to showcase their ideas and innovations and also provides gamers a glimpse into the future of the newest gaming creations.
