“For more than 10 years, Moody Gardens has provided a safe, fun and welcoming environment for families to enjoy,” Moody Gardens CEO John Zendt said. “We are proud to be a part of the communities’ holiday tradition.”

Santa Claus will parachute in on November 16 and flip the switch to officially begin the holiday season on Galveston Island. Choirs, musicians and dancers will be a part of the live entertainment on opening day.
Visitors can walk a trail that includes more than 100 sound-enhanced light and animated displays with holiday music then grab an inner tube and plunge down the Festival’s 100-foot long Arctic Ice Slide.

On Food Drive Fridays a special discount is offered for those who help those in need. Every Friday throughout the Festival those who bring a non-perishable food item for the Galveston County and Houston Food Bank receive a two-for-one Festival admission.

Admission to the Festival of Lights includes ice skating and is $6.95. Guests can bring their own skates or rent them for $6 with the purchase of a Festival of Lights ticket.
Tickets to the Aquarium Pyramid, Rainforest Pyramid, MG 3D Theater, 4D Special FX Theater, Ridefilm, Discovery Museum, Colonel Paddlewheel Boat and Arctic Ice Slide are available for $6 each with Festival ticket. Special rates are available for groups of 20 or more. For additional fun, Arctic Ice Slide Passes are available for $12 and $18.

Other special events include the Holiday Gift Market, a Holiday Half Marathon and Family Fun Walk, and “A Magical Christmas 2: Home for the Holidays” dinner and show starring Master Illusionist Curt Miller and Friends. Special Festival of Lights hotel packages are also available starting at $149 per night, plus taxes.
