New Galveston Pirate owner Bill Alsobrook has been working flat out in order to increase the profile of his newly acquired club since taking over has been keen to continue growing the transatlantic ties he is establishing for the Texas club.
Firstly, he arranged a tie up with Welsh club side Monmouth Town and this recent announcement adds an English League 1 side to the list as he looks to grow the awareness of his club.
Now Galveston Pirate Soccer Club are excited to announce that effective immediately, the Walsall Football Club’s Supporters Trust in Walsall, England has agreed to “adopt“ Galveston Pirate SC as their official American team, much like they have done for Walsall FC Sierra Leone.
Walsall FC currently play in English League 1.
“This agreement is huge for Pirate SC, as it will garner the attention and support of the fans of one of one of England’s most storied clubs.” Pirate owner Bill Alsobrook stated, “English football fans in general and Saddlers fans in particular are known for their passion and we consider it a true blessing that they have decided to support us officially. This agreement has the potential to add thousands of passionate fans that love football and love grassroots football especially. We hope to be able to raise the funds to one day travel to to the UK and play a match vs our brother clubs.”
Walsall FC Supporters Trust Board Member Steve Davies stated: "We at the trust are delighted to welcome Galveston to the Saddlers worldwide football family and watch your performances with great interest."

Galveston Pirate Soccer Club participate in the Texas Premier Soccer League (TPSL), a league sanctioned by US Club Soccer and is classed as the fifth division in the US Soccer Pyramid.
