It was another amazing year at Gallifrey One. Every February, “Doctor Who” fans descend on the Los Angeles Airport Marriott for the annual Gallifrey One Convention. As the world’s largest “Doctor Who” fan convention, the event is a must attend for any die hard Whovian. This year’s event took place February 15-17, 2013, and was full of amazing announcements.
“The Tenth Planet” to be released on DVD with an Animated Episode
It was announced at Gallifrey One that the final William Hartnell story “The Tenth Planet” is going to be released on DVD. In addition, the missing fourth episode will be animated. The DVD should be released in late 2013. Videos of the animation will be available soon on http://www.doctorwho.tv/.
Recently found episode of “Galaxy 4” makes North American Debut
As one of the stories that were previously thought to have been completely lost, one of the episodes of “Galaxy 4” was found in 2011. “Air Lock” is the third episode in the story and was shown for the first time in North America to thunderous applause. With a touch of camp and quite a bit of action, fans were delighted to finally see the lost episode.
“Radio Free Skaro and the Ambassadors of Death”
Convention attendees were treated to an amazing show by the Three Who Rule. Steven, Chris and Warren once again opened Gallifrey One with the help of Chip from “Two Minute Time Lord”. The amazing guest lineup included Sylvester McCoy, Philip Hinchcliffe, Stephen Thorne, Dan Starkey, Neve McIntosh, and Richard Hope. Big Finish Productions releases 50th Anniversary Special Trailer
The highly anticipated 50th anniversary Big Finish story “The Light at the End” finally has a trailer! Starring Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann, this epic multi doctor story is set to be released in November 2013. The trailer can be viewed on You Tube. Exclusive Steven Moffat interview by Ed Stradling
As the final surprise of the Gallifrey One convention, Ed Stradling screened an interview with “Doctor Who” Head Writer and Show Runner Steven Moffat. During the interview Moffat discusses the upcoming year of “Doctor Who” and even his favorite episodes. The interview can be viewed on You Tube.
