According to ComicBook.com on Feb. 10, Gale Anne Hurd, one of “The Walking Dead” producers, was questioned in regards to a possibility of the top-rated TV franchise moving forward with its own movie.
Hurd, who is the one responsible for bringing the story from comic book to TV format, discussed that their crew will probably still be preoccupied with the fourth season of “The Walking Dead” to even give a movie much thought.
“Right. I mean, there’s an Entourage movie coming up, right? That’s what I keep reading. Right now, seriously, we’re focused on Season 4. If there was a movie, there are so many decisions that would need to go into it. The availability of the cast and all of that”.
Hurd also made aware of the fact that there is no exact air date for season four. She said it’ll more than likely be in October as had been in the past. She was also asked if the date for season four would be announced at this years Comic Con.
“I don’t know yet if we’ll be at Comic-Con,” she said. “We don’t even begin those discussions for a couple of months. It’s contingent on a lot of things. It’s my favorite thing to do. I love Comic-Con so I’ll be there even if the show isn’t. I’m a geek anyway. And I love New York Comic-Con too and we try to be there as well. But part of it depends on what slot we get and if we have to shut down production. And that’s out of our hands”.
Paley Fest is giving fans an opportunity to air all their favorite seasons on the big screen come March 7 and will be hosted by Chris Hardwick. In addition, this evening, fans will be witness to the continuation of the mid season premiere of AMC's "The Walking Dead" tonight at 9 p.m. EST.
