Samsung already has quite a few tablets on the retail market and recently revealed plans to release three more. Announced Tuesday, the new Galaxy Tab 4 family of tablets is the next generation installment of its affordable Galaxy Tab series line.

Samsung did not specify the Galaxy Tab 4 tablet prices nor actual release date at the time of announcement. As Phone Arena reports (April 3), in Europe, Dutch electronics retailer Tabletcenter lists pre-order prices between 200 to 470 euro.

Like the preceding Galaxy Tab 3 tablets, the Galaxy Tab 4’s are available in 7-inch, 8-inch and 10.1-inch WXGA display sizes. The respective Galaxy Tab 7.0, Galaxy Tab 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 promise a rich multimedia viewing experience with a screen ratio of 16:10.

Each tablet is bundled with services including Group Play, Samsung Link and Samsung WatchON. Group Play lets you share and play music, docs and games with others, while Samsung Link allows you to access content across multiple devices. With Samsung WatchON, you can watch your favorite TV shows and movies at home or when you’re on the go. "Perfect for all ages, Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy Tab 4 line offers an exceptional multimedia experience in a more premium and portable design, making it ideal for viewing or sharing content with friends and family," said Samsung in a press release.

Previous reports of leaked hardware and software specs for each Galaxy Tab 4 series tablet are almost spot on with what Samsung’s official full rundown reads. Across the board, each tablet features a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and 1.5GB of RAM, .5GB more than the 1GB that the leaks suggested.

Excluding the Galaxy Tab Pro releases, the Galaxy Tab 4’s feature double the cores in comparison to earlier generations of dual-core Galaxy Tab number series devices. Users upgrading to a Tab 4 from a Tab 3 or Tab 2 will likely notice more seamless Web browsing, a snappier feel and a significant increase in multi-tasking capabilities.

Cameras are identical among the Galaxy Tab 4 series tablets, all sport a 3MP main shooter along with a 1.2MP version on the front. As we previously reported, each tablet features a WXGA display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. On the money was the fact that the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 both offer 16GB of internal storage with a microSD slot for up to 64GB more.

Although the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 houses 8GB of storage, Samsung is also placing a 16GB version of the 7-inch tablet on the market. The 8GB variant has a microSD slot with a maximum capacity of 32GB, while the 16GB version can hold up to a 64GB card. Samsung confirms that the Galaxy Tab 4 series tablets are Wi-Fi, 3G and LTE capable with Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 2.0 connectivity.

The Galaxy Tab 4 line’s textured, premium look and feel makes any one of the tablets an ideal companion device for a Samsung Galaxy series smartphone. It’s sleek design would complement the soon-to-be-released Galaxy S5 or existing Galaxy S4, Note 3 or Note 2.

Both black and white color variants of the Galaxy Tab 4 line of tablets are slated to land in stores between the months of April and June.
